Sharay Reed Adds a Low B to Jamerson

OK, to be fair we’re not 100% sure it’s James Jamerson who plays on the original version of Marvin Gaye’s Soon I’ll Be Loving You Again, but  Sharay Reed is definitely inspired by him on this cover.

Never mess with the god of Motown soul and funk bass, you might say, but if Jamerson had had a low B string on his bass, he might have sounded something like this. For sure, Sharay Reed uses it extremely well and comes totally out on top musically. IMHO, of course!
