19 Vintage Bass Shootout

There are many great bass shootouts around, but this one features some of the more unusual basses such as Greco, Fernandes, Peavey and Aria, as well as some of the usual suspects from brands such as Fender, Gibson, Musicman and Gibson.

There are two parts. The first is recorded directly into a Demeter HBP-1 Tube Preamp and the second half is played through an old Ampeg B15S and recorded using 3 mics: Sennheiser MD421, AKG D112 and Shure SM57. The majority of the basses have Hartke 45-105 strings, but 3 are strung with flats.
